I was reading this, this morning.

I wonder if MS will actually meet there release date for Windows 7, as it is meant to be out late 2009.

On a different note, one of my colleagues had an email from Measure Up stating that the 70-290 and 70-291 are being retired in March 2009.

Yeah boots up quicker, however slower shutting down which is funny.

Start up from hybernate has really been improved matter of seconds.

Wifi support has been improved.. one click

Support for home multimedia networked device improved

User accounts controls has more options can reduce popups

Sidebar gone widgets can be on desktop

Build photo, video , music libraries from multiple sources, so stored in different locations but accessible from one. Saves merging folders when you dont want to.

Homegroup simplifies home workgroup and networking in terms set up and sharing.

Looks very much like Vista because alot of it is..LOL

The startup and shutdown times can be altered by changing the wait variable in the registry

Does anybody have an idea of the spec that is needed to run this new OS. I also got the impression from the clip that this was an update of vista really, repairing bits and bobs etc, in that case shouldnt it be a freebie, i know oits not going to happen mind lol

    Not sure

but pre-beta Build 6801 on a Dell XPS M1330 already puts vista to shame

Some of its new, some is old and some is heavily re written. Its isn't going to be as refined as once made out.

I'm just hoping that MS have learned their lesson from Vista where they promised some major developments and then pulled them all from the final version.

Did you put in on the PC yourself or have you seen it elsewhere? I tried tonight on a vm machine - it couldn't detect a hard drive to install onto, have yet to find a solution.... :dry

    Concerning retired exams

I find no information on any of the MCSA 03 exams retiring on the Microsoft website. Only the exams kindly listed by Obinna

As for measure up they are emailing people to tell them that some of the practice exams they offer will be retiring with the retiring Microsoft exams. They make no mention of the MCSA exams at all

If anyone else has information to the contrary please share it and start a thread in the appropriate forum

As for windows 7. I had to chuckle when the bbc's bit on it had some guy showing us multi touch for five minutes. Yeah because that was my issue with Vista. The lack of multi touch

Anyone got any theories behind the 7?

    My theory is:

    Windows 1
    Windows 2
    Windows NT
    Windows 9x & ME
    Windows 2000 & XP
    Windows Vista
    Windows 7

    Your theory is way out.

You forgot Windows 3.1 and Windows for Workgroups 3.11

    I don't actually remember seeing a public release of 1 & 2.
