Where do you download Windows 7? I've had a look around but couldn't find any links. I read it's limited to 2.5 million people though

I believe its being released to the public at 12:00 PST, 20:00 GMT ( I believe)

Had a similar issue a few years back with a friend of the other halves. We asked me to look at a few spyware and virus issues.

When I did, I noticed the 'get a genuine copy of Windows' bubble kept appearing. I checked the base unit and found a COA sticker for XP Home, and the system had XP Pro on it.

I asked him why, and he said his mate, who worked in a sweet factory, knew loads about computers, and had told him that Pro was better than Home. I asked him for one reason why Pro would better suit him (A normal home user, wanting to browse the net, play solitaire, and play music and videos. He couldn't come up with one. But his mate told him it was better, so what would I know?

 

Do you know where from? is it the connect site or is the windows 7 page on microsoft.com?

Don't have a technet subscription

 

you shouldent need one for this, microsoft offer there trial stuff through technet aswell without a subscription. thats how i have a copy of windows server 2k3 trial

but the servers are getting thrashed at the moment i cant even sign into my live id to download it

Got as far as choosing which version but kept getting a 'server too busy' message after several attempts so gave up. Can't even get that far now!
