after this do you think McClaren will survive his meeting ?

imo he's gotta go, there's been injuries but the last few games have been shockers. it could affect the premier leagues decision on a quota for foreign players.

The Sun in their first editions were saying it was all over for him at midnight, looks like they were right.

Also I dont think its a bad idea to have quotas on foreign players in the premiership, as I think some of the foreigners make some of the English players look better than they are.

In my opinion ( sorry chelsea fans) pot shot Frank Lampard is way too over rated and is only made to look better than he is by the likes of Dider Drogba.

Why did Mclaren play a rookie goalkeeper in such a crucial game?

Everyone knows that our best formation is 4-4-2 so why play different?

Everyone knows the long ball crap doesnt work, so why tell the players to do it?

Everyone knows Peter Crouch does not have the pace to be up front on his own, so why do it?

These are just some of the questions I would ask him if I was in the FA meeting.

    it was inevitable really

i also think the pitch was a disgrace and made a passing game impossible. i don't know why they played an american football game on the pitch so close to a crucial game, especially as it was supposed to be for money. like anyone in the UK watches AF :cussing

the 80k seater game was sold out stupidly fast with over 250k people trying to get tickets!
perhaps you meant to say 'you' don't watch AF?
I don't watch football, the games played by a bunch of melodramatic whining fairy's and is way to commercialised, perhaps I should bitch that they waste such a nice stadium on such a shite game?

The pitch was a disgrace, but both teams had the same pitch to play on, so cant complain. They were just better then us, and we deserve not to be going next year. In all honesty, Im more disappointed Scotland didn't quality, they really deserved it in my opinion!

Oh well, whos next in the big seat?

I hope it does but I do not think it will as football is not a sport it's a business and that would be a bad buisness move for the premier league if they did that.

the vast majority of people don't watch it, so as soon as one game appears they'll all jump out the wood work to watch it

it's not wasted on football, football is unfortunately not the only sport played on it

i agree it was the same for both teams but thats not the point it was trying to make, they've built a brand new stadium and they get some oafs to turf up the pitch prior to an important fixture. i'm sure there was some playing fields out back they could have used :mad

Football is no way has as much commercial / advertising eliment to it as lets say NFL does! This i can say for sure!

Still, i watched the game... I think Steve is unlucky because he played an attackive team, he took a risk with the keeper carson but hay if it had paid off he would have been a hero. On the night i think Lampard was poor, Joe Cole was a real let down, to me, the only players who actually made a difference was David Beckham (why he didnt start i dont understand? Why have the best dead ball passer on the bench when you have a 6'5" striker to aim at????) and Peter Crouch - but still the player let Steve the manager down... having said all this, England should have been qualified and through well before this game!

Overview: Englands leagues have too many over seas players now which is affecting the national team way too much! The english players are paid far too much too.

Thanks to you guys who said Scotland deserved to get there. Don't get me wrong, I am by no means whining about the game against Italy - dodgy ref decisions were at least 50/50, so no qualms about that.

But almost our entire campaign was awesome - except when we needed it most !!! I mean, taking France home and away, only to lose to Georgia who had already qualified !!! Grrrr !!

Overall though, our confidence has gone through the roof, and I think it's fair to say that our reputation has at least grown significantly as well. I think we will draw more respect now from all quarters. Well done to Big Eck (if only we can keep him), and the Boys in blue :thumbleft

Just to note I like NFL I support the Bengals if it hadn't have been for cheating steelers I think the Bengals would have been in last years Superbowl.

Carson Palmer is a great quaterback.

scotland deserved to go through more than england did although they lack the edge against some of the better teams they actually play like they want to win and sometimes thats enough
