I'm also wondering which one is more valued?

I’ve sat neither but I think it’s always true, which one is more valued depends on what you’re working with day time day. Network+ being great for generalists, desktop and server people and the Cisco cert more if you’re a network engineer

Thanks Jim, that was kind of the impression I got also from comparing the two exams.. think I will go for the N+ now and maybe the CCNA at some point if it ever becomes relevant to the job I am in.

A wise strategy I’d say mate. N+ will give you the fundamentals that you can use no matter what the vendor. Then you can specialise if needed as you say

I did the Firebrand CCNA 6 day course just before Christmas as work TOLD me i was going on it. I had to ask why as we don't use Cisco kit but was told it is the industry standard. Load of old cobblers. It is Cisco through and through, based on their kit. I did get a better in-depth understanding of networking but other than that a lot of it was what's the point?

I found it a difficult course, but the intensive 6 day course is not for everyone (including me)
