    Certs wise:
Juniper Dev Ops. I did start my CCNP but spoke to one our Network Engineers and he recommended getting some experience with things like Ansible and Python. DevOps is another free exam (Or 25% cost I think) if you pass the preliminary test so its gets me the knowledge that I need and I get a cert out of it which is nice.

    Other:
Getting down the Gym as much as I can. Mainly lose weight before Boxing club opens up again in Jan. To be honest, I find the gym REALLY boring but
A: I need to lose Weight,
B: Wife has given me a target of 12 Stone. If I get down to 12, I can get a Maori leg tattoo when we goto New Zealand next year for Christmas ha ha.

Didn't know you were abit of a boxer Jaron, do you do it competitively? prior to lockdown I started to kickbox competitively, really into competitive combat sports. I've started strength training at home, pretty much have all the equipment I need. I actually find it harder to workout in the gym than at home, just don't like people watching me lol.

Oh god No mate. Im the oldest there.
Ive been going to the Gym a lot and in all honesty, I find it really boring. Then I saw an advert for a boxing club near me and I thought I would give it a go. To be honest, I LOVE it. So much fun and wish I had done it sooner.

For a long time (thanks covid) I've been without a head of IT / IT manger to report to, so I've been carefully hedging and delaying with regards to our company's cloud strategy. But, after making a throwaway comment that my firm is too small to be on OpenStack in a budget meeting, it seems I screwed that, and now I have an emergency need to skill up for AWS.

So I blundered my way through the solutions architect associate today (based off general knowledge and half the cloudguru training course) but I need to do the sysops and devops ones properly. I reckon I need that lot done in about 4 months to be on track, which is going to hurt. So be careful what you say in budget meetings, that is the takeaway from this little parable.

Box is a funny thing, I would like to go for it. But I have a permanently weak left leg and also some problems with a face skin. If I got beaten by something my face is becoming so big and hydropic xd

    Work projects

Retiring AD for a 500+ user network to move to Azure AD only – last phase now as all servers have been retired and AD is only servicing user logons

    Several SharePoint\Teams migrations

Out of work doing the house up when I get the time :)

Just got Sec+ and am starting on CCNA, which has been on my cert bucket list for quiet a while (started studying for it 4 years ago - had the A+ at the time - but got my first helpdesk job). Hope that the Sec+ plus CCNA plus 3 years of IT Operations experience (Helpdesk to Jr. Sys Admin) is enough to get some interest from companies.

For this year I sort of planned on AWS and Kubernetes certs after not really bothering with the exams for a few years. I've done AWS architect associate (a boring memory test), AWS Syspos admin (same but with trick questions), and now I'm looking at AWS devops engineer, but if I can't do that in 6 weeks (an idiot idea, there's no chance) I'll ditch it and switch to CKA in Sept either way.

It's almost a decade since the last time I set myself a cert plan and actually did that plan. I'm not entirely sure why I'm doing it again tbh. I blame the boringness of lockdown.

I know what you mean mate. Very easy after lockdown to question your why I find for myself.

Taking a break has done me good so that now I’ll like. OK you know what. I fancy a little confidence boost again. Truth be told I’m Lazy. I’m not sure exactly what I should know so I use certification as a way for the vendor to tell me ha ha
