    ahh well turns out it's a mute point as the final job spec I got it's more of a service desk role. Amazing how much a job changes in 24 hours :dry

    Michael, it sounds like you are in the exact same position I was in recently. Doing a remote 2nd line role in the NE and having to deal with the politics of an infrastructure team who didn't want anyone getting in on their turf. My boss understood the situation as others in the 2nd line team were experiencing the same issues. Not much we could do except continually pester them. As they never answered emails, phones or Skype it made my job so much harder. Luckily the users I was supporting were all pretty understanding about the constraints I was under.

    On a side note, I thought your current role sounded similar, and from looking at a few of your older threads it's got me thinking that you're doing my old job! I left in March after deciding to take the next step.
