what would you do if drinking alcohol is banned in your country?

What would I do? Probably a lot more with my life on Saturday mornings!! (No hangover and all that!) :biggrin

To be honest it would bother me a touch as my lifestyle would change. I do have a very active social life which normally involves a couple of drinks in a restaurant to going to pubs and bars around town for a few more, but I look at it as a social thing, a way to relax and enjoy myself. I wouldn't say I need alcohol to enjoy myself, it just helps. I definitely don’t depend on it if, I can happily have a few weeks without drinking anything, normally due to exams or being too busy with work.

One thing I would say is that I’m not against the drinking age limit being raised to 21. It would change the face of our streets because in my experience its the 18-21 age group that are *usually* unable to say no to anything and end up face down in a gutter somewhere. As I say though.. *usually*.

Yeah - it's definitely not the 18-21 age group that get p***ed up and ruck with each other & anyone who happens to be nearby in London. Most of it is 25-30 year old blokes using booze as an excuse to kick people's heads in.

It would not bother me at all I dont think, I do like an ale every now and again but I would not notice its absence, although perhaps after a while all those bottles underneith the kitchen sink might start to look rather appealing with a splash of coke!

This is true! I was thinking back to my experience of a couple of places near me (unfortunately :( ) that seem to only appeal to the younger groups, and by saying 18-21 I probably should of said 16-21 because some places just plain dont care. The result of which is a massive amount of underage kids having half a pint and wanting a fight or throwing up in the street.

To be fair anywhere you go you'll manage to find 2-3% of idiots who have to go to far, regardless of age or anything else.

I would continue to not drink alcohol.

Now, if they were to ban carbonated beverages, I'd have to lead the revolution! :gun

I'd get some tommy guns, one of those cars the anthill mob used to drive and one of those white zoot suites and fedora and set up an illegal drinking operation :D
