Now.. run my own IT business
    before that
IT manager/Technical manager for an office equipment company
    before that
    Fax and digital copier technician
    before that
    Radio, TV, audio technician

I could argue, that i have been in IT related work, for nearly 40 years.

I have done nothing but IT through all my working life, granted I am only 23.

@ 14 started working in local computer shop fixing/building PC's
@ 17 started working for a large european company as IT Support
@ 19 worked for a IT Services company
@ 20 until now worked as IT manager for a start up company, which now turns over 120+ million a year

Stick to IT (think I may have just coined a phrase there) and you will do ok. My advice is if you do not work for a very large organisation with large IT dept then you should move jobs every 2-3 years for a while, as you will gain a broader range of experience. I shall have to update this next year when I'll hopefully be down in London! :)

First Job was working on a market stall.

Followed by 22 years in HM Armed Forces in various ICT roles.

    Now....still in ICT.
