it was a 323ci 2.5 24v I have gonna go down to some 18" wheels, get it lowered 25mm, get the windows tinted , get an ecu remmap and exhaust setup and K&N air filter I should get an extra 100hp so about 270hp altogether.

How many cylinders has she got mate? I take it your getting it de-cat'd for that kind of HP increase? I'd get her on the rolling road to make sure of the hp increase and an independent one at that! Superchips are known to fudge the figures...

What age is the car? Those kind of mods - exhaust and remap - would need a rock solid engine to cope! Will you be extending the K&N to a location where it won't suffer from heat soak?

My ST is still standard...and still annoys 330Ci owners! LOL!

it's a 6 cylinder. I won't be doing anything I know sod all about cards about from how to drive them and make them slide. I am getting it done at a bmw specialist in Essex so I gues they know what they are doing and they have a rolling road to test it.

Yes the inline 6 cylinder engine. Same type in my dads 520i...I think the inline technology is something that cames from the WW2 era in that fighter aircrafts had inline engines hence why Luftwaffe fighters had long noses.

The only downside of a K&N is if it's bolted on closer to the air induction then the standard box. The result is that hot air is sucked in - air heated up by heat coming off the engine within the bay - meaning a pi$$-poor combustion. Combustion works well with colder air - more oxygen atoms. The trick is to extend the K&N to where the original air box was OR extend it quite close to the wheel arch to suck in that lovely cold air that leads to a better spark! Many of my ST mates have seen a degradation in performance when they've removed the air box and bolted on the K&N at the induction area near to the middle of the engine bay. The term is heat soak.

So when they rolling road it make sure they test it when the engine is cold and then test agaon when it's at full temp. If the graph shows a drop in performance and the K&N is bolted on the main induction point then heat soak is the culprit! Ask your Beemer techy about it! Ideally they should extend it close to the wheel arch or close to the front grill. Being a RWD there is plenty of room for scope...pain in the arse for FWD though!

I will ask them to place it away from the original if possible to eliminate heat soak.

I was also looking at getting a super charger but I will stick to the original plan at the moment.

Anyway gotta a go some bird is shouting at me because she is scared. Apprently resident evil is on sky. I keep telling her it isn't scary but she doesn't get it.
