You see, the games I like are probably laughable compared to what a lot of you guys play. But here's my list nevertheless, from when I started gaming to the current day. I can't single it down to one, so I'll go with the theme of ones that have taken away the most hours of my life! :biggrin

Treasure Island Dizzy and A Rockstar Ate My Hamster (Amstrad CPC)

Toejam and Earl (Mega Drive - hunting for this if anyone has it for sale!)

Quake, Constructor, Theme Hospital, Command and Conquer, Caesar 3 (early PC days)

Morrowind, Oblivion, Championship Manager, the Sims 2 (for the sheer sadism sometimes)

    Will-never-die-classics - Doom, Lemmings, Worms.

Realtime until you enter combat, then turn based. If you cant see an enemy for 2 turns it reverts to realtime.

It's phenomenal though. Apparently they have been working on JA3 for years now, but I suspect thats going to pull a Nukem.

I had totally forgot the existence of this, awesome game. Used to spend days round friends houses on Mega Drive and SNES, I was probably the only one of my friends never to declare a preference by actually buying one of the damn things!

havent had time to install it yet.

I was very suprised to see the recommended systems specs say quad core processor 2.4GHz. This is the first time I have seen a game actually state a quad core processor.

I am going to run along with resource meter and real temp today to see how much of my 2 cores actually get used.

Oh believe me mate, your machine is going to be put to the test for this game. Graphics are fantastic and the distance you can view is just nuts. I heard if you run from one end of the island to the other it takes 9 hours in real time, the map is so big

    Crazy

The last operation flashpoint was very big too. If I remember right it was 225 kiliometer squared and it would take 2 hours in a jeep to get from one end to the other.

At last something that will test my system, as the only thing that has done lately is prime95 and my system pi$$ed all over it :D

Probably Doom 2 as it was the first PC game I played on my PC and at the time there was nothing quite like it. Never had that buzz before or after playing a game (possibly Halflife came near).

Others would have to be Eye of the Beholder, Syndicate (Which I believe they are working on a remake), Civilisation and Neverwinter Nights. I love modern games but the amiga generation of games had character and imagination unlike some of the crap they churn out these days.

For me it has to be the first Alens Vs Predator game on teh PC. Its the only game that has ever mad me jump out of my chair in fright and shock! The first level you dont see an alien until almost the end, and then it hits you! The levels all quiet yet spooky until the bugger jumps out at ya. Then its fast paced fight then run for your life! I played it around midnight, with teh lights off and headphones on, the very first time i had it, and jumped right out the chair almost having a heart attcak when i faced an Alien. It was atmpospheric and a great play.
