I'll start off. My daughter was visiting friends last night so I picked her up before the "holiday" traffic could become treacherous. My sons were still home. Watched the end of "A Knight's Tale" (pretty lame) with my son David and his girlfriend. We all had dinner together. The guys took off for their various parties. My wife and daughter rented some "chick flicks" and got ice cream and popcorn.

I stayed up and watched "Bewitched" (also lame, though Nicole Kidman was "eye candy" as always). When the second "chick flick" came on, I decided to bag it and go to bed. I figured a good night's sleep beat forcing myself to stay up until midnight. Went to bed around 10 and managed to sleep in until 7:30 this morning.

Just got back from a walk. Probably will putter around the house today.

I imagine most of you did something more exciting than I did. Let's hear your stories.

I started out last night at the local pub with my girlfriend, where we met some friends.

We started out with some nice relaxed paced drinking until someone (not me) decided to start being 'hardcore'. When at the bar not only did he order the regulatory pints (we were in rounds) but also decided that we'd all have sprits as well. Doubles none the less.

This went on until we had each got a round in, a round including spirits I might add.

At about half ten we left the pub and headded to one of my friends houses where we had a buffet and yet more drink.

As midnight approached the champagne was openned and we drank yet more.

Myself and my girlfriend left at 12:40ish unable to take the pace anymore.

We got home, made a cup of tea and headed to bed.

I woke up this morning feeling :sick and my girlfriend was :sick in :toilet.

I have no idea how any of the others fared as we usually carry on drinking until 3-4am.

    Trip,

Your New Years Eve was more exciting than mine. I watched a little TV with the wife--As Time Passes By and Keeping up Appearances--and then finished reading a book I had previously started. You hit the hay a little before I did, but that was only because I was so absorbed in the book.

To tell the truth I can't remember the last time I saw a new year come in. It's been a few years.

I went out for a nice meal with my wife, then we went home and had a relaxing evening, watched some Alias on DVD drank champagne then watched the Jules Holland Hogmany music show until 1am. Nice evening all in all. Much better than last year when we went to Edinburgh for the Hogmany which was just wasn't that great (if you aren't into getting blind drunk).

Hope you all had good evenings and happy new year! :)

We has some friends come over for dinner, and they were gone my 10pm. I logged in and played WoW for a bit, then went upstairs to watch the ball drop with the family. After they went to bed, I came back downstairs and played WoW all night.

I'm spending today disinfecting 6 Dell machines (client had a user who dl'ed a virus).

Well we just had a family night in watching a bit of the telly (not that there was bugger all on) and then played some board games with the kids. The evening passed with plenty to drink. Jools Holland was on and the New Year seen in with the kids with a bottle of bubbly. Put the kids to bed around 12.30ish and then turned in an hour later.

Had a real lazy day today, lots of surfing and nice and relaxing.

Going out to the sales tomorrow and then work on Tues :x

I started the evening at a friends house for a house party, vodka, buffet and pizza, but a bit more of one than the other, that was a good few hours of fun, drink and good music, at about 10:30 we jumped on a bus upto Vaxhaul bridge and walked along millbank to Lambeth bridge (the one before Westminster, which is the one next to Big Ben) where we squeezed our way to the front, drank the few beers and voda redbulls we had brought with us, and awaited the hour..
pop went the champagne and about 10 bottles got downed between well, 12 of us! :)

between us we also had about 4 canon EOS 350Ds and numerous other cameras, about 3GB worth of pics were taken, not bad for a 10 minute firework display :)

we then hopped on a bus back to the aforementioned house and continued the party until about 5am
one hell of an intro to 2006!! :D

Well i ahd a blooming great time on new years . I started at 5 at a party, where someone had the great idea of bringing a smoothie maker, my god they are just so brill them things. Then we all headed off to the pub , there was loads of women and to be honest i was being rather charming.

I told four girls that they needed to smile a bit more and of course they took the huff a bit butone of them was very sexy and i concentrated on her ended up getting a phone nmber and then ended up snoggin 2 of her mates in front of her and she still text me this morning (potiential swingers parties) asking how i was etc .

The highlght of the night wass one side of the pubv having a dance off with the other side to the sounds of YMCA , i am the musicman and other cheesy party stuff. Thean at 2 we got kicked out and then back to a party were i made more smoothies and today im feeling pretty ok about the whole lot

Good on you, nothing wrong with that, I think new years eve is possibly the most overhyped and overrated experiences / nights of the year.

We ventured out for the first time in years.

Started the evening with a home made vindaloo and a couple of beers. Drove to Broadbeach and picked our tickets up for The Doobies. Then walked to the casino and had another beer whilst waiting for the support band to start. Walked back to the convention center and watched Chain (not great but okay), then another couple of beers in the break. Back in to watch The Doobies, Long Train Running and Listen to the Music and China Grove etc. Great, absolutely spine chillingly brilliant! Then a quick stroll to the beach to watch the fireworks and bring in the New Year with a couple more beers. Then home for a couple of glasses of wine and then to bed at about 2:30!

A good one this year me thinks ;)

Big mix of events this New Year. Glad (most of) you guys had fun though!

Mine was...different. And the first sober one in years. Had dinner at an Italian with my other half's friends, then drove over to my parents to sing in the New Year. After that, I played on 'Buzz' (rather irritating PS2 music game) with my sister until 2am, when she collapsed. Then I got coerced into a game of Trivial Pursuit, and my boyfriend got introduced to inter-family board game politics.

At 4.30am, when we won, we got to go home. They wouldn't let us out until the end of the game

Best New years since 2000 I'd say :thumbleft Went out with a mate from Cheltenham, his girlfriend and eventually bout 15 other people none of which I'd met before. So, anyways, arrived at his bout 7, had a few beers, flirted excessively with this one woman named 'Blondie' (damn she was hot), and then headed out to the pub bout 9. 6 hours and 2 pubs later, I've made more friends in one night than in the past 3 years, done more with Blondie than should be legal in a public place, and had far to much in the way of intoxicating substances to get away with the hangover I had when I woke up :biggrin
