Superb value site, I do love a bargain, I'm sometimes mindful I've spent a fortune over the years on IT training materials (touched lucky in terms of work paying for courses tho so definitely not complaining)

I agree mate, as a contractor I used to pay for all my training, being in full time employment is great as I do get training but actually the Linux thing is off my own back so I am funding that myself :( although truth be told it's not that expensive and well worth the money.

On this one its unusually great value but I'm always mindful of my spend as at times, I do wonder, now that I'm I've been in IT for a while, how much of my training do I actually need. At times I think its more for me than a requirement for my career. I'm not the type to want to be just OK at a job, I strive to be one of the best. If I get there or not is another matter but I'll keep pushing. That plus I really am a nerd, it's a pleasure to read about an interesting technology isn't it.

James, I do the training because I want to, as a manager I am not expected to be hands on but I still am. It's a pride thing, I want to know things.

Same, glad it's not just me. It definitely helps to boost your all round knowledge and you never know the direction a customer or employer might take, something I know we've seen a few times

Funny enough after studying ITIL I don't think its as dry as I originally thought, quite interesting tbh. After the foundation I hope I get the experience needed to go further into it in the future.

So the VCP-NV exam was sat and passed today :)

On to either the VCP6-DCV or Linux Essentials (followed by the VCP-CMA). Leaning towards the VCP6-DCV as I start on the VCP Training next weekend.

I have my ITIL exam booked now for this month, I am very tempted to go for another exam before the years out if I pass this one this month; but wouldn't know which one as I dont want to over certify with no experience to back it up. I want to do the A+ but I want to wait until the 900 series comes into play as I dont think I will sit the exam until late next year tbh and by then the 800 series will be retired. I plan to step away from certs for awhile and just focus on the learning, I will probs start applying for entry jobs after my ITIL or possibly look for some work experience.

Its been a busy year for me as far certifications go, I have sat and completed Prince2 Foundation, 70-687 & 70-688, and I do plan to sit 70-410 by the end of the year.

If you were to ask me if I thought I could do this much in a year I would flat out say HELL NO, I really have surprised myself and my family, I hope to continue my studies into 2016 with grand thoughts of MCSA Server 2012, but really un decided at this stage.
    Thanks.
