What are the tools on the Mircrosoft training books?
I am staring at the 70-290 book and the tool on the cover looks particully useless and unrelated, anyone know what this tool is or what use is has?

If I remember correctly, they are just 'tools' and not IT ones either.

For some reason they seem to enjoy pipe-wrenches, compasses, set squares and all kinds of rubbish.

Try not to worry about it. :biggrin

Somewhere in the book should be a page that explains the tool, it's use and the reason that it was chosen for the cover. (or is that just O'Reilly books with the animals?)

I think he's right - but it may well be in the small print somewhere rather than in the main part of the book.

I wonder if MS did some analysis on what sort of tools were 'clever'.
I bet they ruled out chisles, spanners and toilet plungers.
