Well this is a turn-up for the books and no mistake. The town sot has managed to keep his head (and innards) whilst all around him are losing theirs. Told you not to misunderestimate me.

I think that Col the town scribe, was far too quick to shout for someone else's head. Nervous perhaps? Off with his head!

 

Well now then, I refute that accusation Twizzle me lad, I've nowt but 'elp this 'ere village.

I'm a bit concerned that ole' farmer Ludd once again din't take me up on me offer, I'm a wondering what he's a doing out there.

Af'raid my vote is for you Farmer Ludd, have you been keeping those pigs save fer yersel' ?

 

Well, the three of you manage to track down Ludd and lynch him. And with that, you prepare for the night, hopeful that you've finally managed to rid the town of the wolves once and for all.

The three of you decide to huddle together at the Blacksmith's place. At some point during the night, Mac gets up to relieve himself (and to sneak some of the ale that Greg had rounded up from Grooby's). When he gets back, he sees Blacksmith Greg covered in blood, next to the body of Col the Scribe. A smile spreads on Greg's face as his teeth begin to grow...

...and that makes Mac the final victim, as the Werewolves now equal the number of Villagers.

By the third night, Father Jim had learned of the humanity of three Villagers (Grooby, Mac, and Maria, I believe). Unfortunately, he was unable to share any of this knowledge before he met his untimely death by the Werewolves that night. Despite this knowledge, he unwittingly gave the Sheriff role to Igor, who was a Werewolf!!

Witch: unassigned role

Matchmaker: "Honest Jonny" the Used Cart Salesman (JonnyMX)
Lovers: Jonny and Igor
Jonny decided to assign himself one of the Lovers roles, and assigned the other to Igor. Then it was revealed to Jonny that Igor was a Werewolf. The only way they could have won was by being the last two to remain.

Thief/Hunter: Maria the Fisherwoman (MLP)
Maria got the Thief role. Fortunately for her, there were two unassigned special roles for her to choose from: Hunter and Witch. She chose the Hunter role, which eventually led to the chain reaction between her, Igor, and Jonny.

Werewolves:
Undertaker Igor (nugget)
Blacksmith Greg (GSteer)
Arro the Mysterious Traveler (Arroryn)

The Villagers lynched Arro on Day 2, leaving only two Werewolves. But that was all that the Werewolves needed, as the Villagers decided to lynch each other with the remaining five lynch votes. When Igor died as part of the Hunter-Lovers chain reaction, he gave the Sheriff role to Greg, making it easier for Greg to seal the final vote.

It might be interesting to look through the game's votes to see how the Werewolves votes lined up with yours and how they helped to pick off the Villagers one by one. :hhhmmm

I was surprised that the special roles stayed hidden for so long.

 

Well, I thought we had it in the bag.

As matchmaker, I picked myself and Nug as the pair.
I figured that we stood a better chance as a team, he was taking an active part in the game, and, well, you know, he's a bit of a dish...

Anyway, when I found out that my bit on the side was a werewolf, it was happy time.
He would have to protect me from the wolves and I would have to protect him from the rabble.

When he got made Sheriff, it was double-win time.
I was so proud of my Nug.

Anyway, it meant that his double vote could swing and nomination in our favour.

But alas, the hunter and the witch are unpredictable and it's amazing how the tide can turn.

One thing that I was conscious of was that votes were swayed by our CF personalities, rather than the random roles assigned by the game.

Don't forget, just becuse you respect a forum member, or you consider him a friend, it doesn't mean he 'aint going to kill you in cold blood.

Thanks to BM for organising and running the game. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and the way things played out was intriguing!

I had my werewolf suspicions way out, except for our local undertaker Igor.

Anyone want to offer up any strategy advice they learned along the way?

 

I have to be honest, I just enjoyed trying to make up bad rhymes - the minstrel sort of disappeared so I made it my raison d'etre to fill the voids... lol. No offence Cumber.

And of course, I decided that I could and should defame the carter as we both worked with wood. Other players going missing for a little while gave me an opportunity to accuse them too...

I think we had a hard core of players who were on a fair bit and put on a few posts which were fun to reply to... I hope we get a few more players doing the same this time as it does make it more of a laugh, although I do appreciate that work and family will take their toll.

 

Agree that much of the fun is from playing in character and reacting to the other posters. Quite enjoyed being the pompous prig in contrast to the earthiness of the other villagers. Really expected to be killed off long before I was...

 

Playing in character does seem to keep the energy level up - thanks for that, all of you!
