Hi all,

It was my first day at the council today and WOW!! what a different enviroment!!! I've always worked for private companies in the past so you could probably understand that I'm not used to stuff like flexi-time and annual "cost of living" payrises!!! LOL!!!

Anyway, things went well and it does seem to be a good place to work!! So...so far so good!

Glad it all went well for ya, isn't flexi great I got used to it while supporting the civil service, don't half miss it now

 

ahh my flexitime was a bit of a falicy, they buggered up on the contract, IT staff dont generally get it due to them being required for standard support hours :P
however they give us bucketloads of overtime and privelage days to make up for it
yum!

only wanted it so i could 'stock' up extra hols to see the missis, now i can just take some unpaid leave and it wont make too much of a dent

Gratz mate, glad you had a good first day, this is my first job for the CS aswell, seems to be going great, find out in a week or so if im here for the long haul or not
