I don't think I have ever heard a welsh accent then. Or to an american it just sounded english? I know I love the accents of scots, irish, and aussies. Most germans I have met though have to heavy of an accent for me to understand them. I use to manage a fishcamp in FL that was knowed worldwide for it airboat rides and I've meet people from all over the world. Being able to talk with people from all walks of life was very interesting. Was a very kewl job.

The Welsh are easily offened tho. Try calling anyone in the Valleys a Sheep S**ger and see what happens! I used to know some good insults in Welsh but forgotten em all now.

As for Boyces Bugger off. It was used all the time back home in Devon (what part ya from m8? i was from North). And it is also used in Yorkshire to good effect. I tend to use Fek off too much better than the other F word!.
Also calling soemone a Grockle (tourist) in devon can be insulting, espescially if they are a local.

It funny how people are about slang names and words. Some find it offensive to say Bloody, or Jesus Christ etc and others find it ok to say C**t and F**k every 2nd word!

I'm from Ilfracombe mate, you? I used the word grockle up here (South Wales) a while back and then back-tracked thinking no one would know what I meant. To my surprise, (and his) a guy from Pembrokshire said it was a very common word up there as well. Must be a Celtic word I reckon.

    Best leave it I think.:D

As for feck, that's a very commonly misconstrued term (by les Anglais anyway). It doesn't mean the same as the other word. In Ireland, young children use it with complete impunity.

Baba i was from barnstaple (born anyway) and i even eventually ended up in South Wales at St Athan (the raf base past rhoose). Now im in Norfolk.

The thing is a lot of swear words and insults are quilocialisms and mean different things in differnt areas of the country... sometimes its funny others its insulting. The nest part is seeing someone who isnt sure what its supposed to mean.
