I'm using the official MS 70-270 self-paced training kit. I was wondering if this was sufficient study to do 70-271 and 70-272? Is the 70-270 still valid with Microsoft's new certification tracks?

70-270 isn't the same as 70-271 + 70-272; it approaches XP from a different perspective. So, no, it would not be sufficient.

If I remember correctly, 70-270 is valid as a client exam for the 2003 track, but not the 2008 track.
