Upgrading Ram on Laptop help

    The Windows 8 requirements are thus:

    So not much different to Win7 although there are also extra requirements due to the way Windows 8 can work, such as touchscreens, BitLocker, Virtualization etc...

    You might want to try the windows memory tester or Memtest86 :-

    Try setting the memory settings manually in the BIOS to the values that match the two sticks (voltage, speed, CAS, etc)

    Also try it out with CPU-Z or SiSoft Sandra or similar tools. CPU-Z should tell you if its working in Dual channel and ganged mode.

    Maybe speak to the ebay merchant about a refund.
