transfering files

    hi guys decided to try linux going with debian.
    got a few quires for you, i have a 256k flash drive can i use it to tansfer files from my win xp pc to my linux box

    As there are people who are loading business card installs of Debian on flash cards I don't see why not. Don't as me how to do it though as I don't have a flash card so I've never set one up.

    What sorts of files? Will Linux be able to read all the different Windows file formats? I know with OpenOffice.org, you could read any Office created files...but what about other sorts of programs.

    hi trip, it would mainly be drivers and such like that i download to my windows pc untill i get the internet connection up and running on the linux box

    Why not check the manufacture's website to see if they say it is Linux-compatible ?
