Rightly so. I watched the episode with the Veyron vs McLaren F1 and was disappointed Top Gear said those were the two fastest road cars in the world.

When will they acknowledge the SSC Ultimate Aero is the OFFICIAL fastest road car in the world?

Actually, while on the subject of that, a new version has been released apparently that has recorded an unofficial speed of 273mph. The data returned from the car at that speed showed the accelerator pedal was only depressed 71% of the way!!

Not only that but the company is producing an eco version of the same car which can do the same speed. Mind blowing stuff!

Jay leno's had a go in it!

The world record was set in 2007. It just bugs me that an 'authority' on motoring appears to deny all existence of what is actually an amazing acheivement (regardless of if you like the car aesthetically or not).

Calling the Veyron the fastest car in the world on Sunday was a major boo-boo I think.
