    Only an American would higlight olympic "soccer" as an achievement, you see old chap. The only international football tournament worth mentioning is the world cup. No one gives a s*$t about olympic soccer, just as no one other than Daisy Beckham gives a s*%t about that "major league soccer"

    And for an American to comment on food? oh boy do you class your contribution of super size burgers and fries as gourmet delights of the culinary world? America's sole contribution to food seems to be, make it bigger, make it greasier and make it faster.

    And yeah the democratic land of the free, last time I went through JFK it took 4hrs just to join all the other aliens on the "inside"

    I don't care where he is from, that was some funny stuff.:biggrin

    And we have pretty good food here. Sink your teeth into a real philly cheese steak, that was actually made in philly, and your lips will swallow your head while your tounge beats you to death if you don't go back for seconds.8)

    :biggrin nope. never even seen the shores of america. I just figured that, in the interests of British-American relations on the forum it was only fair to post the response to the letter.

    I might point out that i didnt write it. Its also not the original response ive read way back in the day, but i couldnt find it. This ones still pretty good.

    Yeah, i dont get this bit either, but never mind.

    It's a reference to a slightly different version of the "Independence Revocation" letter. In it, three references were made to those who are aware/unaware "that there is a world outside your borders". Two of them use different calculated percentages:

    ...and later...

    ...and later...

    97.85% != 98.85%, and 98.85% + 2.15% = 101%. Of course, we Americans have been known for giving more than 100%, so I guess it's OK.
