If like me you are just to idle to click Start, Shutdown, Shutdown, OK

    then try this little baby!!

Right click anywhere on your desktop

    Select New Shortcut

    In the command line dialog box type;

    C:\windows\rundll.exe user.exe,exitwindows

You now have a shortcut on your desktop which, on a double click will shutdown Windows

    Use

    C:\windows\rundll.exe user.exe,exitwindowsexec

    for a restart shortcut.

Or is it the other way around??

    Have Fun!!

Nice one, I hate clicking start n all that balls.

I often put my machine in standby, is their one for that by chance.

    Edit:
Doesn't seem to be working. An online mate of mine on yahoo just told me that Alt + F4 closes a window, then when you only have windows open, it closes down the machine.

However he didn't give me a keyboard shorcut for restart, so if I can get it to work, your shortcut will be handy for that.

    Thanks :!:

Win+D followed by Alt+F4 works, Win+D minimizes everything to the desktop, so the Alt+F4 is assumed to shut down explorer.exe and brings up the shut down dialog

also bind a hotkey to that shorcut and you can shut down using that too

and for those that didnt know, Win+L locks the computer, saces the Ctr+Alt+Del + Space :)

I just leave my comp running 24/7, I only reboot when I've just had a Windows Update or a program has a fit.
