In the last month ive applied for over 450 jobs now! had about 25 nos and the rest i havent heard from. Today i got a call from an agency got a 3 month contract close to home and wanted my permission to send my cv forward. i got home checked the spec and agreed. No longer after i sent that email i got called from another job i applied for and asked if its ok to send my cv to a different job not as close to home. Then it rung again and it was a salesman so i told him to do one! :P

I was really getting down about the whole job thing over the past week and today has showed me to keep trying as people are obviously taking me seriously now. Its hard for me cos my CV is so based around the fact i was a builder, to me it gives off the wrong impression! But fingers crossed im gonna get a job soon and i cant wait!

So anyone reading this who is thinking they are fed up of the whole job search lark dont give up PRESS ON! people will recognise you sooner or later.

As for the tip that people give out about updating your cv on jobsites i recommend that, because the call i got today was from a cv i recently updated i knew this as it had my new email address on there. So even if you keep uploading the same CV its worth doing because these agencys search for cvs recently added.!

    Good luck

    That's around 15 applications a day
Personally I look to do 2-3 job applications per day, and it normally takes most of a day to do this because I take the time to re-jig my CV to highlight the attributes set out in the job advert and carefully tailor a cover letter.
At this stage it's mostly about ticking boxes on an agency checklist and I find it best to make sure I have as many boxes covered as possible.
    Absolutely.
It should be common sense to most agencies that the newer the CV upload the more chance there is that the candidate is still available for work. It seems to work for me as I used to renew my CV about once a month, but I noticed I'd normally get a few calls in the week after I did that. Once a week seems to be about right for me.

I got all day! :D I cant jig much around on my CV cos its so Contruction based! most of the jobs im applying for are asking for the same sort of thing so my cv is pretty general with these factors. i.e Good customer service skills. which i have from my building days. i change my cover letter a lot for each job.
