Just wondering and putting some feelers out there.... Is there anyone else (Apart from myself) looking to sit and pass this exam before the retirement date of 31st March.

An another question to those who have sat it or even not considered it - Is there any point in stting this now?

    Just after some thoughts

    Cheers

    Well good luck NB!!

How are you finding the content? I have read on various posts here that some fine dit more difficult than the beast.(70-291) Yikes!!
What study methods/materials are you using?
I am using MsPress as a start and hope to move onto CBT nuggets once I am comfortable with the content.

Cheers and good luck to you too:D

I'm using the MSPress book to prepare and also measureUp practice exams.
I have also been administering Exchange for the last 6 years or so, after migrating the company off Domino/Notes onto Exchange/Outlook ( Just never got round to preparing and taking the exam).

Same here... been working with Exchange 2003 since I upgraded from 2000 a few years back. Have been working with Exchange for about 6 years too! (will be 6 years in April)

When are you planning to take the exam?

Considering some companies still use Exchange 2003, I certainly think it's worth considering.

Exactly. The time a system is most likely to fail is when you're messing with it. ;)

I would take it as well, although I only have 2 years experience. Since we're migrating over to exchange 2010 in 1 month time, exposure to exchange 2003. I think for me it's more of a Exchange 2010 cert at this point.

Well I decided at the end of last year that I wanted to get certified in what we currently use (Exchange/XP/W7/Server 2003), before moving onto the server 2008 track.

To that end, I plan on getting the 70-270, 70-284 and the 70-680 (hopefully) before june this year. Then I'll go for the 70-290 & 70-291 to get the MCSA. Then with the Exchange exam and the Security+ that I've already passed, I'll have the MCSA:M & S.:D

Hope it all goes according to plan Notes Bloke !
We are the same here - I currently look after Exch 2003 and some win 2003&2008 servers with Xp/7/OSX clients so hope to get 'cert'ed' in all...
At the moment - putting all my available time and resource into the 284 as its retiring soon!

Yep! Good luck for the 18th! Let us know how you get on.

Reckon I will be cutting it fine - with work commitments cant get as much study in as I'd like so will be sitting it rather close to the March 31 deadline.

Good luck with it, I sat the exam twice and failed (never said I was an Exchange 2k3 expert). There are quite a few organisations still running Exchange 2003, so it's still a good thing to have.
