By the hammer of Thor, this film is amazing, Ledger is bloody terrifying as the Joker. I was literally knackered when the film ended as it held my concentration solid for 2 1/2 hours or so. Seeing it again tomorrow.

It's almost like 2 films in one, in some aspects, you think it's going to end, then it just keeps on going.

Gotta agree with other posts, my only one criticism was Batman's voice. Granted, if he opened his trap and sounded like Elmer Fudd then he would lose a bit of his menacing air (only a bit, mind), but I think it could have been worked on

Aside from that, best film this year :D

I've went to see this movie twice now and I watched the Begins movie a few days prior to my first viewing to refresh my memory.

The film is absolutely brilliant and I'd say Ledger does deserve an award, it's a very rare thing to actually find a movie villain 'scary'.

I never thought Batman's voice was off, it was a disguise and it worked. It was a good cover for talking to people he knew and didn't know as well as being perfect for sounding angry.

Went to see this movie again yesterday. It was a 3.30pm showing and I was just totally amazed as to how many people still hadnt seen the movie and this was my second time. The cinema again was packed...clearly word of mouth is the reason this movie is doing so well now...everyone telling everyone about Heath's excellent performance as The Joker (the magic trick is by far the best I have seen in a long time), people saying just how awesome the film itself is...I cant pick a fault with this film at all...whatsoever...and being a Superman fan I cant believe how into The Dark Knight I really am...but maybe its also cos I read DC Comics and Superman and Batman (along with Wonder Woman) and the main characters on DC Universe.

Again, I still cant describe just how wonderful this film really is...it is still yet to be released in other parts of the world...so once that happens I wouldnt be surprised if it does manage to surpass LOTR: Return Of The King to make number 2 slot in the All-Time Worldwide box office records list...so far even in the US it is gathering pace and is at present at 13th place with $342m+ already!! 13th place in jsut over 2 weeks!!! and thats just the US alone.

All i want to ask Christopher Nolan is: how the f**k are you going to top this one mate? :biggrin

PS. If people still want to see my review for this movie. Click here.

OK, the mighty Phoenix and I have finally gotten together and decided to see The Dark Knight together tomorrow evening (it'll be my first time and probably his third). I've noticed that the one outstanding criticism of the movie (besides its length) is how Bale alters his voice while he's Batman. There's even an article about it over at Yahoo!. Thing is, according to the actual Batman comics, that's more or less, what Bruce Wayne does to disguise his voice while wearing "the Mantle of the Bat".

I recently read Batman Knightfall: Who Rules the Night which is the second part in the graphic novel series and is taken from the various Batman related comics published in 1993. It depicts the sequence of events right after Bane has broken Batman/Wayne's back and put him out of action. A person named Jean Paul Valley, also known as Azrael, takes up the costume and the role at Wayne's request, to try and quell the sharp upsurge in crime that occurs as a result of Batman's perceived demise/crippling.

It one point, Tim Drake/Robin is taking Valley/Batman to meet Jim Gordon. Since Gordon has had has much contact with Batman as anyone, he's the one person outside the inner circle (Drake, Alfred, Valley...) who would notice if something has changed about Batman (and eventually, he does). As Robin and "Batman" are swinging onto the rooftop where Gordon is waiting, Robin whispers to Valley (who knows how they actually heard each other) to use that raspy voice Wayne uses as Batman.

Maybe the "issue" with Batman's voice in the film isn't an issue, but a continuity piece.

I don't think this is a new critism, he uses the same growl in the last film as well. In the commentary Chris Nolan mentions something about the voice being so low as to be more mencacing but it does steer the audiance away from the superman oh look superman has glasses on prooblem of clark kent.

Well i did like the film overall but i must admit i thought the ending was drawn out a bit. Thought the joker was played very well tho. As for the car i wish they would of kept it a bit more simple as i know a lot about cars and if i was his technician id be crying in my sleep at te thought of changing his tyres every week or even doing the body repairs.

The nightfall storyline is superb, I wish they would make a movie out of that.

I haven't seen it yet but apparently yhere has been a lot of complaints due to parents thinking it should have a higher rating and be a 15 certificate. These parents thinks it's too scary :blink the majority of 12 years olds have see a lot a violence by now and will have seen porn, There's always people who complain.

Huh! I don't think parent sometimes look carefully at the rating before dashing their kids off to see an adult type content movie. Well, am more interested in the action bits:)

I thought it was quite tuned down on the violence.. the scene in the cell is what alot of folk are complaining about.. but wait you dont actually see any violence.. theres allways someone who wants to complain

But this is definatly one film I will be getting on blu ray and for once I have the wifes blessing seems as she loved it as well.

I just hope they never bring the joker back.. would kind of spoil heaths efforts if they did.. hell of a performance to try and imitate.

I think the rating was wrong personally. Defo should not be a 12A (which does not mean you have to be over 12 GBL, it means any age can see it with an adult). Obviously if you are 12 or over, then you don't need an adult. I think some parents assume that because it's a Batman film then it's going to be similar to the appaling movies they made towards the end of the last franchise, which were seemingly aimed at kids.

probably right, the parents could have assumed it would be ok for kids, maybe I am a bit stupid but if I had kids and I was going to take them to a movie I would find out about it first by reading reviews etc.

Maybe this 12A rating for any film should be scrapped and it should just be 12. Personally I preffered it when it was U, PG, 15 and 18 then it was a bit more clearer possibly they could have a 15A rating.

The 12A rating actually means that kids under 12 can watch it with an adult but theresponsibility for seeing it lies with the adult, meaning they should check it out beforehand.
