I thought no-one could top The Simpsons' pisstake of the ridiculousness of reality TV shows when they did 'Mystery Injection' and 'Tied to a Bear'.

This, however is apparently for real and trumps any made-up reality show I've ever seen.

There is a well-held theory that you can chart the decline of a civilisation by how decadent it gets. Witness the Romans with their ever more lavish buildings and entertainments, the Greeks with their orgies of lust and the Mayans with their ever more elaborate sacrifician ceremonies - all of them got worse as they rushed headlong towards destruction. I think the above programme probably indicates that drawing a parallel with our times, Odoacer is about to knife Orestes, Corinth is burning and the fields of Guatemala are dry...
