Since when was this thread about corporate corruption and since when did America become the only nation to operate less than ethical business practices?

 Who are you? This is just an innocent thread with some buds I don't get to spend as much time with as I would like. Please don't make it anything else.

I use to be the same way Twizzle. Love the smell of it, but couldn't stand the bitter taste. Now it doesn't seem bitter though. Had one friend ask me if I was pregnat. She won't do that again. :biggrin

I am am coke addict too (the drink, not the white powdery stuff) and the doc has told me to cut down as I have put on weight latley and have had trouble sleeping apparently drinking 6 or 7 cans a day is too much sugar. Atleast I dint tell him about the two table spoons of sugar I put on my weetabix each day :D

I used to drink around 6 cans a day.. now i'm down to 2 cans and 1 1litre bottle a day! can't sleep either and get hyper at times... just keep telling my g/f that it helps me stay frisky....

Mitzs, I gotta admit that when you first posted about this the thought that you might be preggers had crossed my mind. After all women do crave strange things when they have a bun in the oven.. an old friend of mine said she used to EAT coffee when she was pregnant with her 3rd sprog!

Sorry, Mitz - I somehow missed the bit where you said 'Private thread, butt out'.

I stupidly assumed this was an open(ish) forum with some opinion and input from a variety of people on a variety of subject. I think the title 'Lounge - Off Topic' might have mislead me into thinking that contributing to the discussion might be OK.

If you don't want to talk to me, that's fine.

But I really have a problem now. Am I allowed to speak here, or not?

Am I allowed to say I like Fairtrade coffee? Am I allowed to say that personally, I find it easier to swallow?

    I'll get my coat...

I don't think I've had a soft drink (coke or otherwise) in quite awhile. While I know coffee probably isn't good for me, it won't dissolve tooth enamel, either. My wife read somewhere that the inside of soda cans have to be coated with a special substance to keep the "soft" drink from eating through the aluminum. :blink

Think I'll stick with coffee for my caffeine fix.

Yeah thats true, something to with the carbonate and the sugar causes a reaction that wears the aluminum down just like enamel on the teeth.

Evil coke people, I mean you cant cant even get coke from coke anymore the asprin trick hasn't worked since the 30's or something but I have been told about it and apparently you see this reaction take place when the coke is solidifying.

for me, Sir, while you're up.

Cheers old lad, down in one. 8)

And, the amount of beer glasses he gives it as a rating is just about enough so that your cycle ride home is 'entertaining' rather than, well, I'll tell that tale when it happens.

Oh, and I don't work at night. Often. :biggrin

I drink coffee to wake up. Beer doesn't have that affect on me so I usually don't touch the stuff until I'm done working for the day.

    Hey Shambles,

What's the issue here ? Do you have a point to prove or something ?

Perhaps you did, but to suddenly launch a personal attack against the opening poster seems more than a little unnecessary. Maybe a little too much caffeine going on there ?? :tune

    Cheers :)

I don't believe I said anything about you having to shut your big fairtrade mouth up or that I wished you to leave the thread. I asked THOUGH for you to join the thread in the fun silly little thread that it was ment to be. I didn't start this thread to hear how awfull someone thinks my country is but just to shoot the bull with some friends that were willing to join in.

However, since your getting your coat, let me help you with the door. I wouldn't want you to get smacked in the head with any flying coffee cups coming out of the US....

I prefer my nads to look liek hairy Kiwis rather than fresh pickled onions!! so i'll fore go the Duct tape jockstrap if you don't mind?

I just meant that, you hadn't drank coffee before and now suddnely had a craving for it, being female, my fisrt thought was, women get strange cravings when up the pud. I di then think "nah can't be its Mitzs", which is why i never mentioned it in me first post.....
However at these early stages you never can tell! But so long as you dont start putting coal in ya coffee to improve the taste i think we could asy your safe!

On another note, recently bought my g/f a filter coffee machine with a timer, as she always wanted one. Kept saying she wanted a fresh cup when she woke up for work in the morning. She used about 3 times and now it just sits on the kitchen worktop looking forlorn and lost, and we have 3 types of coffee in the cupboard opened but hardly touched. Sometimes i just open the packets and take a quick sniff for the high. Then follow it up with 2 glasses of Coke and i'm ready for the day at work!
They've also put our office coffee maker right next to my desk at work so i'm always surrounded by the smell. And yet they can't understand why i won't drink it.

Anyway i think i'd better get my coat and follow Shambles out the door, Might take a shovel with me, Don't want to wait for the duct tape to arrive!
