software to password protect folders

One of my clients has a portable Western Digital Hard Drive. Some of the folders need to be protected with a password in case he gives it to another one. Can you recommend a 3rd party software to do that without getting into problems?

You can password protect folders natively in Windows 7 by right-clicking, go to properties and go to security.
