The Zune HD looks pretty neat.

I too am of the mind set that a simple drag and drop would really be the best option on any given MP3 device. All this iTunes crap with my iPhone, I really don't get it. What a bother... Oh well.

Apple used to impress me, now they seem to want to tighten the noose on their hardware by the day (as per your aforementioned reasons). I actually despise iTunes more than Michael Vick or that creepy guy from flop TV sitcom Meego.

Sure the Zune is equally tight (not for long though) but at least the bloody software is aeons better than iTunes!

As for the iPhone, it can go do one, I would rather have an Android or Windows Mobile 6.5 based phone (though wish Mobile 7 would hurry up to market!). That DROID device and the HTC HD2 look incredible!
