Hi All,

Well got my Server+ in the next 24 hours (Friday morning). So far I've gone thru CBTNuggets Server+ 2003 & 2005 CBT (had it when I was going to do the Server+ a few years ago. This morning I'm updating with wiki & google.

We shall see how I get on

Well the beta exam had 130 questions to be answered within 120 minutes. I had to make comments on quite a few questions (normally I only make comments on a couple, but this time was different).

Quite a few questions either had multiple right answers, imo, but you could only select one. Some of them, imo, didn't provide enough information to make a valid correct answer. And in keeping with Comptia's understandability, some of the questions, I had to read multiple times in order to understand what they were trying to ask.

Hopefully this issues will be ironed out with the live exam, but we'll see.

I can honestly say that I've answered 50% correctly, the other 50% were iffy. They used some termnology that I don't use and I believe 1 or 2 question were US specific (but them again, that could just be me).

On taking the exam (and without breaking the NDA), I believe that this certs would be a useful cert to have, as if you actually study for this (once there are books/CBT's out there for it), it covers a wide range of things from components to virtualisation to disaster Recovery to documentation, etc... Things that a new server/system admin should know. However if I fail, I do not know if I'll re-sit this exam as I already have my MCSA/MCSE/MCITP:EA. I may do if Comptia does decide to bring in the vendor-neutral System Admin cred.

Oh well, I believe I have to wait 5-6 months for the results, fingers crossed

Hope you pass it mate. I'm made up it only took you an hour as I'm driving miles away to sit my Security+ so booked the Server+ exam for straight after it. Am I insane? Quite possibly. One thing I will moan about is the lack of Server+ material about. If CompTIA want this one to become mainstream their going to have to get marketing it a lot more IMHO. Well done anyway

@GBL - I agree, I've never know a beta exam to be like that before. However this is the first Comptia beta exam I've taken
