just thought id share this anecdote with you folks.

today i had to go to a local learning centre to try to repair the "i.t guru's" tape drive which was reading/writing corrupted data all the time and as it was his only backup device was pretty important.

there was a big fridge magnet attached to the casing beside the tape drive.

    the end! :tongue

no damn straight and to save his blushes,i took it off and hid it when he wasn't looking and made a big show of "repairing" it.

    he seemed happy!

As any good IT Tech does

    "What was wrong with it"

    "It was broken"

"What did you do to it"

    "Fixed it!!!!"

That's normally the way the conversation goes at our school :dry

AJ, you're summary of the convo reminded me of the classic Qantas engineers' thread. I think that deserves to be looked out again, as it was truly a classic !!!

    huh??

i thought the rather bland casing of my ultirum drive was deliberabtly styled like a fridge and made of steel so i could decorate it to my taste with fridge magnets?
    did i miss something??
