Do you mean to say with all your skills you've obtained from web design you can't (or won't)edit the picture through adobe or image editor and create a smaller picture:blink

My skills have nothing to do with it. I will not alter another picture that I don't own rights to or have permission to alter. So no I will not edit it. You get in big trouble for that!

You have hotlinked the image from another website, not good etiquette.

    http://www.designercatnetwork.com/images/dwarfs/bambino/HoBBiTcaTs%27-Hadrian%27s-Wallb.jpg

The best thing to do would be to save the image to your PC, then upload it to a free image host and post a thumbnail on CF, that way your not stealing bandwidth from designercatnetwork.com and the page on CF wont be stretched and so big to download. It would also ensure CF is not left open to the possibility that the Webmaster of the site you hotlink from notices all the bandwidth of his site is being used to pull one image and does the old switcheroo, replacing the image with some hard core pr0n, then CF is displaying pr0n in one of it's threads... :blink

    Hotlinking is bad

    Thanks! Nightwalker:thumbleft

I have learnt something new today!:biggrin Ididn't know what hotlinking was until I clicked on your link!

"What is hotlinking and bandwidth theft?
Bandwidth theft or "hotlinking" is direct linking to a web site's files (images, video, etc.). An example would be using an <img> tag to display a JPEG image you found on someone else's web page so it will appear on your own site, eBay auction listing, weblog, forum message post, etc."

So does that make Mitzs a theif?:ohmy :tongue

There is an option in cPanel (the configuration interface you get from most webhosts) to prevent or restrict hotlinking. On a big site they may not notice the bandwidth being used, a smaller site might. It would take 5 minutes of a Webmaster's time to change the name of an image on his site being hotlinked and replace the linked image with whatever he wants. Don't give someone else the ability to change the pictures on your site... don't hotlink!

How about if Mitzs just doesn't post anymore pictures and it won't be such a big freaking deal then. Because you think hotlinking bad downloading someone pictures and modyifying that picture and reposting it somewhere else is very bad and illegal and breaking all kinds of copyright laws. :x:dry you really will get cf sue over that crap.
