    Hello ladies and gents.

As you have most likely concluded, my system has been infected with Search-daily and avsystemcare.

Search daily redirects my google links to its own site which is driving me insane. I think it may be trying to download more evil programs from there aswell.

Avsystemcare is popping up aswell to offer me those stupid fake "virus protection" things, and is also driving me insane.

I have used lavasoft's ad-aware and spybot: S & D to try and remove them, with no luck.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

I also have a Hijackthis log below.

you could possibly download Avira antivir or the 30 day trial of NOD32 and see if you have any luck, it seems your badly infected.

Avira and NOD32 are supposed to be the best, I prefer NOD32 as it doesn't use lots of system resources.

    Good luck.

    Sorry to double post.

I ran AVG anti spyware aswell, but it didnt help as far as I can tell. The search daily thing is still there, though im not sure about the other one.

Try a system restore to an earlier date before the PC got infected.

Also try the scans in safe mode and when the PC is not connected to the internet.

Finally download spybot to remove the spyware, not the best website but the product is good! :biggrin

I would recommend you try the Kaspersky free online virus scan. It has a very good detection system. Also if it does find something you can download a free full 30 day trial and try to remove the virus, malware, spyware, etc.

I tried Kaspersky in safe mode. and now my internet on that computer wont connect to the wireless router.
Although, we think we may have "shot" the bad guys, so to speak.

it makes me angry. angry enough to use bad grammer.

if you have got rid of it, i.e deleted it from the quarantine folder or whatever its called with Kasperksy then you should be ok to go back to normal mode and hopefully the internet should be restored.

    ok. they are gone! :D

We connected the computer to the internet again, once we found that the file tcpip in system32/drivers was not the right file or something.

Then updated kaspersky and it found the viruses, but it said they were write procted, and thus access was denied.

I used another program i found on the internet, although I dont remember its name. Yes, i am dumb for forgetting.

This somehow made the trojans accessable by kaspersky which in turn made it possible to remove them.

    Thanks for your help...

    your the best!

    now THATS appreciation...

EDIT: the program i forgot was called ComboFix
