I came home tonight with all the tools I'd need to battle Sasser loaded on a thumb drive. I have three XP machines and an old Micron running Windows 98 SE. I made sure their hotfixes and patches were up to date as well as their virus definitions. Then I ran Stinger on all four. Only the 98 machine came up with an infection...in this case W32SirCam. Go figure.

 

Yup AJ - MS site was practically at a crawl last night, but I finally got the tools.

I heard this morning that the Coast Guard Service has been hit by it - not so good.

No probs so far at work, but I suppose it's early days ...

 

No virus issues at work today at all. Guess all the panic and flurry of activity was confined to yesterday.
