No, the sites not back up yet, maybe tonight or tomorrow, then we'll be able to find out more about who hacked the site.

The site is now back up and running but it appears it's going to take a little more time to get it back to what it was before.

The message left by the hacker was:-HaCKED BY MR.Z M.O.S
HACKED BY MR.Z ,DON'T PANIC ADMIN, I JUST CHANGED YOUR INDEX & DELLETED ALL YOUR FILES, f**k UK, USA AND ISREAL' ADMIN GO f**k YOUR SELF YOU CALL THIS SECURITY, TO BE HACKED OR NOT TO BE HACKED THATS THE QUSTION, MR.Z MASTER OF SHADOWS, SAY TO ALL OFF YOU SEE YAAA LATER, HACKERS 4 LIFE,(PIC OF FINNAL FANTASY)THIS IS FOR ALL OFF U MOTHER****ers

So has anyone else heard of this before or is it just some kid in his bedroom who got lucky in his hacking attempts.

This is fairly typical of such hacks.

The hack was successful because either the admin hadn't patched the copy of phpBB, or a new vulnerability.

As I said before - there exist several 'teams' looking for such sites to hack. Usually it is for kudos for getting their 'name' on the front page, rather like tagging.

I know but after hearing it constantly, every so often I have to have a rant about it.

Although, there is a joke there about knowing where to post the reply8)

Did the admin patch up the software? Because if he doesn't this is going to keep on happening. :ohmy

I don't know but I'm sure it'll be patched up as tight as it can be whenever he gets it back online but that said I don't believe anything will keep out a determined hacker:(

If that were true, sites would be going down all the time. It *is* possible to secure a network...
