Our roaming profiles are help on a member server running 2003. Now we have found that clients using windows 2000 pro screw up their roaming profiles when the logon. For some reason it corrupts a .dll file (shdocvw.dll). If i delete the profile and remake it by logging on using an XP client, it works fine, even when using W2K.

    WTF going on??

Maybe this will help. Not sure though. Do you have any error messages? If so what are they?

Sory, nothing in the event log either on the client or file server. This problem is starting to get to more pc's around the school, but only on the W2K pro machines!!!!!

I'm sorry AJ. This is over my head and I can't bring anything up on google. :( If you can't find any information on the internet I would suggest calling MS themselves. Sorry I couldn't do more.

Thought about that but after due consideration it would mean staying after home time. :dry

Did this just start happening all of a sudden (not there one day and there the next) AJ or is a gradual thing?

Just thought it might be an incompatible patch for 2K systems or systems that aren't patched yet and are using an 'old' version of the .dll.
