Yup, after a month here, I am handing in my resignation
as you may be aware if you followed the Other Thread then you will notice that I had two interviews in one day, and this job resulted from the second one, with an on the spot offer
however Finally the first place have gotten back to me, and as of the 21st of December I am to become a Civil Servant with the Office of Gas and Electricity markets
the pay is the same, everything else seems better, more holidays, more training, they will pay for my degree (11K GBP), casual dress, flexi hours, and a nice government pension

Have to hand in my resignation today and i really feel bad about it, although the place isnt the nicest to work, the folks in my team are a great bunch, and i feel kinda harsh dropping em in it before christmas
But i think ultimatly, this new role will challenge me more, and open up more oppertunities in the future

    Wish me luck

    well, I did it
i gave my resignation and my boss took it suprisingly well
    he sort of predicted it
and understood fully how you have to look out for number one (to be honest he has had it with this place but earns a fortune, he wouldnt get at some other place) his words were 'you have to mate, in a commercial environment, because thats what they are going to do if its a toss up between paying you and making a profit'

so it all seemed to go down well, and on good terms
so im happy about that :)

man flexy time is my dream, surf when it's good and work when it's not! You always gotta look out for number 1 where work is concerned, companies always do. Good luck with your new job - I just would'nt advise the old civil servant line when chatting up the ladies. :biggrin
