most people book exams far in advance.

if for example circumstances change and you are unable to attend at that date, is it possible to reschedule with a few days notice and do they charge a penalty fee for this?

    thanks.

Pearson Vue don't - with 24 hours (or more) notice to run.

    Not sure about Thomson Prometric.

    thanks guys. great news.

it;s always difficult to fix a date quite far ahead without knowing what your schedule will be like that week...

so i guess you can call up the centre and just reschedule...

just for the record, it really depends on the test centre you intend on using. the centre I use only opens for a few morning's every week, but it isn't that busy, so you can book an oppointment well in advance or with a few days notice.

Personally, use it as your target - the sooner you book, the sooner you will devote yourself, study and pass. :D

    Good luck

As stated earlier, both Prometric and Vue will reschedule you if you give 24 hours advance notice. That said, I rarely schedule an exam more than a day or two ahead of time... I don't schedule until 1) I know I'm ready, and 2) I know I've got free time to take the exam.

i presume bringing exams forward is ok too.

for example, booked for 4 months ahead, but ready to take after 3 months.

What I like about my current job is that I work 6 days then have 3 days off, so I know what days I'm working throughout the whole year which makes it easier to book exams.

Personally, I don't book an exam until I'm ready to sit it.

Most test centres can fit you in given a couple of days notice.
Pearson tend to be quite good at rescheduling - if it's last minute, give them a story about a broken down car or a sick child.
Prometric on the other hand can be complete fascists and would charge you for a missed exam if both your legs fell off.

    That's why I don't use them anymore.
