OK, I was looking at some old posts that some people have received reputation for (I find this to be a great way of unearthing interesting threads I may have missed) and noticed that there doesn't seem to be any hard and fast rule about how many reputation points someone receives each time. How does the scoring work? I noticed two users with an almost identical number of points each but one had received rep for almost twice as many posts as the other.

The rep system, as far as I understand it, is based on a few factors.

1. Length of membership to the forum

2. Post Count

3. The person that gives the Rep

For every 100 posts you get an extra power point.

For every 100 rep points you recieve you get an extra power point.

If the person who gives the rep has a lot of 'power points' then you can get more rep, so if Jakamoko gives you rep you'll get sh1t loads of it coz he's got a big mouth!

It's all so much clearer. Thanks for the link SGUK. I did look for something like that but couldn't find it.

 

I think I'm on track for 3000 reputation points this year.
