So I have an old pc lying around and I am thinking od turning it into a file server, but I think I would like to be able to access those files from different locations etc, so something secure would be good.

Can anyone reccomend anything for this? Free would be good, is there some linux distro that people swear by? The pc ill be using has a core 2 duo and 4 gb ram, so its not that high spec.

    Cheers for any suggestions

OneDrive/DropBox would do the same thing would it not? or is it more that you'd like to put the PC to some use?
