    Are you sure that's how they are doing it? I've got a neat little joke app called rudecdtray which opens the CD tray and makes a farting noise at random intervals. 8)

    Have a look in the notification area by the clock - is there a little icon there that shouldn't be? You can close it from there if it's the culprit! :biggrin

    You could put a network monitor on the PC it's happening too, then filter the TCP/IP traffic to look for packets on port 3389. Then track the IP address to the PC via the DHCP server or your own list of which PC's have which IP's statically assigned.

    not sure if I'm off base here but how about the IPC$ share?? Isn't that the share that allows you access to a remote computer without actually connecting to a specific folder

    (Shows I've just read about it for my 271 course!)
