So I was still unsure what I was going to do verbally when he breached the subject. Problem is I always expected the discussion to be at any point during the 4 weeks of my notice period.

Instead he caught me off guard as I was physically saying goodbye to everyone and shaking hands before leaving the door which was only a metre away. I'd even finished the handshake and goodbye with him and thought I'd escaped. I was between folks when he just dropped in "Yeah we'll hook up when I move to Parts Unknown and go for that drink" and in my off-guard state I just quickly blurted a "Yeah, sure" so I could turn around and finish Byeing someone else, 'cause I didn't want to cause a tense scene in my last few seconds there. *Facepalm*

Now my only move is deleting him off Facebook at some point. I don't have an interest in seeing the content of his once-every-few-months statuses and I don't want to leave open a channel for him to contact me by.
