Nope, wouldn't know where to start! I don't have too much time to sit and learn at the moment... maybe when I start my next OU course I may look into (Java).

Cases, I hear kids like Lego ;) I sure do! Going to get some lego and try and make this Biz’s LEGO case – the Boreatton Scouts hit Germany. | Raspberry Pi

It would seem you are right mate. I didn't know that but always hold my hands up. It seems it was designed for the above but has quickly been targeted for a lot more than they bargained for. You can read about it here. In particular the second to last paragraph.

I think the lego idea is brilliant ha ha

We have one after a long wait, but have a case on order to protect it.The intention is for children to use it to learn programming. To be honest i have not had much time to try it.I may donate it to my children's school. Not sure yet.

First impressions, very clever idea, but they have been unable to compete with the demand.

I believe you can achieve more with a simple VM and using a Debian or Arch Linux build - if they are to learn programming.

I'm not overly keen on it after using it, but its OK for the money.

Apparently there was going to be an educational version with a case, dunno if this is still happening ?

What are the best options for a low power device for video streaming, HDMI, netflix, rootable, linux support ?

    The OUYA looks interesting also.

I was thinking of a PS3 but they are rather large and maybe draw more power and require a fan, and the newer ones have pulled linux support.
