The mounted file systems to directories do not have to be located on the local hard drive of the Linux computer, letting you share directories on a server and have them accessable from PCs on the network. Which of the following directories must be located on the local machine? Choose six.

    1. /bin
    2. /boot
    3. /dev
    4. /etc
    5. /home
    6. /lib
    7. /opt
    8. /sbin
    9. /usr

    Answer later.

Answer time. You were almost right AJ. The correct answer is:

    1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8.

    5. /home: Home directories

    7. /opt: Applications

    9. /usr: Files that can be shared across the network

Can be located on a remote server and do not have to be located on the local machine.
