    Yup, thanks Offside, unfortunately I missed getting in on this one.

    The only thing I would like to point out, for anyone that isn't aware...

    Share permissions only come into effect when a user is accessing the share from another box on the network. They have no effect if the user is working on the box locally.

    NTFS permissions are effective over the network and when a user is working on the box locally.

    Hence NTFS permissions are more secure.

    Agreed blurinse, I would also like to add that microsoft recommend not to use share permissions and rely on NTFS permissions instead.
    the only time where share permissions should be used is when the OS is installed on a FAT file system.
