PW protecting folder

    Does anyone know how to password protect a folder over a network? (workgroup)

    I don't think that you can cheek.

    Access to folders is based upon permissions and access rights, so why would you need to password protect it?

    You can however password protect the documents that are stored in the folder. This is usually done within the application itself.

    I tried that but it wouldn't work.

    when i go to security in the folder options, i have to add a user, then it mentions location.

    the only location shown is the <computer name> and i cant add any other computers in the workgroup. :rolleyes:

    edit: i even add everyone and gave it full control and still never worked.

    XP PRO SP2 on all of the machines.
