Well make sure u got a damn good coolin system for that..I tried to get mine to 2.6GHz (currently at 2.4GHz) but the machine wont turn on at 2.5GHz so i need a better heatsink and fan for it...plus also you need to take into account the RAM speeds too...cos they can help with the CPU speed...

Im running the stock cooler, no problem. Gotta temp probe connected to monitor temps (built into me case). Ram is at 220mhz.

AMD's run pretty well these and they are much more affordable. Also the new CPU run at a lower voltage so its not as bad as couple a years ago where the ahtlon 2600, etc used to run at 1.65V.

But like Noelg24 said if you are going to overclock get a third party cooler designed for overclockers.

...but don't currently give you the best bang for the buck! AMD certainly did the past couple years, but that's no longer the case today.

If i had the money i would have changed to a E6600 and asus P5B mobo + ram, but its tight, so my best option this time was a processor upgrade.

Yeah, changing out everything definitely isn't a cheap option, so I agree with your upgrade decision. :)
