Have you run this prog in vista?
I have tried and it wont run.
I have tried to run it in compatibility mode but vista is not included in the list of compatible os.

Say yes to them all and then import this into your registry, I had to zip it up as CF didn't like the .reg extension

    Added
To import you will have to be running the registry editor with admin permission to do so

Start-> type "regedit" into the search box -> right click "regedit" and run as Admin -> file -> import -> find monitor.reg and click open

Let us know how it goes mate. If you dont have any joy with the repair install try installing SP2 after.

The repair install is handy to try and fix a problem like this. If it doesnt work then you can start trying other things or even consider a complete rebuild.

Ok so heres an update on my problem...
I formatted my drive and reinstalled windows and guess what................
Its still coming up with the same error!
So i have plugged my old computer in which is running vista home premium (my new computer is running vista ultimate) and its fine.
One thing i have noticed tho, in home premium it is listed as print spooler and in ultimate it is listed as just spooler, is this right?

I dont know what else to do now? :(
I guess i could try installing sp2 dont know whether that will make a difference tho, i dont understand how the error can still be there after reinstalling windows?!

Well i was half way through downloading the updates when i thought i would just check to make sure the error was gone but never actually finished installing them.
I'll try again tomorrow, i just dont understand how the error can still be there after a clean install.
