Premium Membership

Hi all, straight to the point, I need your help to keep CF alive in 2018. Hosting costs me more than we earn through google ads. I appreciate your support and I look for ways to repay your loyalty (dogecoin etc), but I need your help to keep the site running and make improvements. Going premium is a huge help to the site and ensures we can keep our doors open to help people on their certification and career journey. Kindest regards, Jim (CF owner)

One thing though – seems to be difficult to find a link to the Premium Member page – perhaps have a link on the main page?

Thank you for the feedback Sparky, I appreciate it. I've added a link to the top of every page now. If anyone has any suggestions for the site please say and I'll do my best, hopefully with a quicker turn around (just started a new job)

 

HI @madman045 I suspect this could be an error from when I took over the site in November I think it was. I've checked the paypal account I use and it doesn't show any payments from you. Are you able to cancel it on your end? Sorry about this, I was unaware of this

As you know Certforums is now almost 16 years old, and in order to keep it running I have ads that help to pay for the hosting and other associated costs of running the forum. Unfortunately the advertising revenue no longer covers the hosting costs as traffic to the site has reduced over the years. Premium Membership was created to remove advertisements and allow members to donate towards keeping us going. If traffic increased I'd like to remove Premium Membership altogether but until it does, I've lowered the cost of all Premium Memberships as follows:

CF Supporter was £1 per month, now £0.50
Premium Membership (1 month) was £2.50, now £1
Premium Membership (6 months) was £14, now £5
Premium Membership (1 year) was £25, now £10
Premium Membership (2 years) was £40, now £18
Gold Membership was £80, now £30

Certforums really appreciates your support and all donations go towards the sites hosting, licence costs, and domain costs. It is mate with MySQL but our DBs being so old are pretty big for all of this text but it’s more the CPU and network bandwidth requirements for this place. Simon used a lesser VPS a while back and the place ground to a halt. Despite the posts dwindling from the glory days we still get tons of lurkers who don’t post
