I'm a web developer in South Carolina, mostly WordPress and small PHP projects, and I've been taking on more web hosting and maintenance work for local clients. One of them wants a simple mobile companion app for their site (event listings and push notifications) but there's no budget for native iOS and Android work, so I'm looking at AI-assisted or no-code app builders instead. The appeal is getting something functional without maintaining two codebases, but I'm unsure how these handle push notifications, app store submission, and whether the generated code can be exported if the client later wants a real developer to take over. I also worry about vendor lock-in and ongoing subscription costs that could surprise the client. I haven't committed to any platform yet. If you've used these tools for a paid client project, how did the store review and long-term maintenance side work out? Any pitfalls I should watch for before I quote this?
